TIMELINE

A History of Dedication

1987

Ethan Lazar founded Cambridge Security to meet the high demand for competent, customer-focused security. Starting with doorman services in New York City, Cambridge quickly grew into a world-class, full-service security provider. By recruiting experts from law enforcement and the military, Cambridge set a new standard for trained, high-caliber security across New York City.

1997

Through the early and mid-90s, Cambridge Security expanded into new markets, launching its National Command Center in 1997 to serve national retail clients. Over the next decade, the Command Center partnered with 600+ security affiliates, managing major projects for brands like AutoZone, Citi Trends, A&P, Michaels, ShopRite, Sports Authority, Verizon, and Ulta.

2016

In 2016, James D’Arcy joined Cambridge Security as Vice President of Operations and became COO within two years. By 2018, Cambridge was licensed as an Advanced Life Support (ALS) provider in Palm Beach County. Mr. D’Arcy and Mr. Lazar led the company’s strategic focus on Florida and its core competencies.

2025

Cambridge unites its Command Center and Corporate Office in Boca Raton, bringing operations under one roof for greater synergy and efficiency.
